Value Added Thematic Geo-InformationFrom 1999 to 2001 the Vatgi project established a standard for the exchange of value added thematic Geo-Information between the public sector and multimedia publishers. It has conducted research and set up prototypes and as a result a DTD (Document Type Declaration) was created for the XML format... The Vatgi DTD was subsequently implemented by the consortium partners and by many DMOs on an extended European scale.. Download the Vatgi DTD (.zip file, 12 KB)
@RETEBetween 2002 and 2003 @RETE has tested country newsletters and SMS (Short Messaging System) as a way to promote cultural events in Europe. Objective of the @RETE project was also to assess the feasibility of a business model that would involve tourist players such as major online brokers of airline tickets, accommodation booking and travel packages. The test pointed to the relevance that phone companies, big events providers and local tourist bodies must have in a project such as @RETE.. http://www.eurohappening.com/
